Everyone loves a good skincare routine, especially one that won’t have you going into debt for it. Over the years, I have come across some skincare staples that are affordable and well worth your money.
Cleanser:
Everyone needs a good cleanser and I seriously swear by CeraVe Cleanser (specifically the hydrating liquid to foam cleanser). This cleanser itself takes all my makeup off and cleanses my face at the same time. I typically will do the cleanser to take my makeup off, and I will sometimes use the exfoliating mitt as well, wash that off, and then do one additional wash with just the cleanser. I’m telling you, I swear by this stuff! It is amazing!
Micellar Water:
All you need is your micellar water and a few cotton rounds and you’re good to go! I use this to take off any excess makeup I have or simply just to cleanse my face. I often tend to bring this traveling if I may not have access to a sink for my regular cleanser. The micellar water breaks down any excess residue and removes it from your skin. I honestly feel like my skin is so soft after doing this step in my routine.
Retinol:
The one thing many are scared to try but can truly make a difference in your skin. Retinol can be harsh at first so I do recommended doing it one night, take two nights off, then one night on again and repeat the cycle. I don’t suffer much from acne (thankfully) but I do have some prior acne scaring and pigmentation on my skin. Retinol smooths that out allowing your skin to look and feel more seamless. Retinol also has vitamins and can increase collagen production in the skin. Retinol has been known to give you that younger age look and who doesn’t want that? I have been using the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Face Serum and I love it!
Moisturizer:
An extremely important step especially if you’re like me and suffer from dry skin. I have looked high and low for products that will not only hydrate my skin and actually KEEP my skin hydrated. I have tried both high end and low end products and honestly, my favorite one so far is ‘Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream’. The name threw me off at first, but I promise you, it is good! I put on this moisturizer every night and wake up in the morning and still can feel the hydration on my skin. Truly a dry skin girl’s dream!
Some extra’s that are inexpensive and good to mix in your routine where you can:
- The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
- Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
- CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion (option of an AM with SPF as well)
- The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque
I have link all of these favorites here if you would like to try them. I do not get paid to promote these products, I just truly love them & I hope you do too.
